Animal Care Station
The Animal Care Station is located along the river. Here the native animals are cared for and reared. To access the station either the staircase or, on the river side, a footbridge can be used. The station is well equipped with treatment room with table, movable operating lamp, scales, heat lamp and illuminated monitor for viewing x-rays. A ladder leads to the station's top floor. Food is stored there and equipment for insect research is available. After successful treatment, the animals can use the two outdoor enclosures for recreation. Currently, a tapir and an ocelot family are housed there. As soon as the animals are healthy again, they will be released into the wild.
